When one thinks of a hot female athlete, the super stunning tennis star Maria Sherparova comes to mind. But the WNBA has its more than fair share of drop dead gorgeous athletes. While basketball is a hard support which requires good muscle strength and stamina, no one said one can’t have bronze and beauty together. Since Women NBA is more competitive in the roster spots since there is only a 12-team league, it is certainly commendable that in the midst of hard core training, these ladies can keep up with their feminine side.
While most of these basketball players come on advertisement to sell cereal or model like some of their male counterparts, but through social media and WNBA’s own media, one cannot go amiss their beauty and strength. Lauren Jackson has not only been noticeable for her impeccable ball tossing skills, but also known for her beautiful build and a structured face by Sports Illustrated.
While those magazines may be splattered with pictures of Skylar Diggins and Candance Parker, WNBA’s ex-player Lisa Leslie rose to fame as one of the best players and also the snagging the title of being of the most beautiful belles in the sports world. For the time being no one matches up to the talent and dazzle of Leslie, they are many others that are currently out there on the field along with their good looks.
1. Skylar Diggins
Confidence is the key to success and Skylar Diggins learnt this lesson way before her time. She has managed to be on countless magazine covers while looking everything from sassy to elegantly stylish. She has regularly appeared in Sports Illustrated and other magazines even though she has only been affiliated with the WNBA since 2013.
As a former McDonald’s High School All- American starred at Notre Dame, where she shone as the school’s all-time leading scorer. Her last season was at Tulsa, where she snagged the title of an All-Star, averaging 20.1 points and 5.0 assists per game, she was also bestowed with the title of WNBA’s Most Improved. While her basketball skills need to be worked upon, we can safely say that she has perfected the art of posing for the camera
2. Leilani Mitchell
While Leilani cannot be described as hot and steamy, she certainly been blessed by more than her fair share of cuteness. The American-Australian player started out with the WNBA playing for New York Liberty in 2008 and currently plays for the Phoenix Mercury. She is probably remembered for the amazing season with New York in 2010 when she averaged 9.3 points, 3.8 assists, and 1.6 steals per game, while starting in 34 games. She was awarded the title of being WNBA’s Most Improved Player Award in that same year when she worked hard and led New York to victory in a few games. In 2008 she was romantically involved with another athlete, the Chicago Bulls point guard Derrick Rose and while she did not graduate to Mrs. Rose, she certainly kept playing basketball and moved on to play with Phoenix Mercury. Who knows this year, she might meet the true love of her life!
3. Candace Parker
Candace Parker can be credited to helping advance the WNBA and competitive women’s basketball. She has a sunny smile and apple red cheeks that always seen to catch the camera lens. She is an extremely talented player as she was one of the first women to dunk in an NCAA tournament game and lived through that legacy by being the second woman to dunk in a WNBA game. Her double victory in 2008 was being titled WNBA Rookie of the year in 2008 and the league’s MVP in that year too.
She has been on a first team WNBA All-Star on three separate occasions and has been a leading player in the play-offs, average an incredible 20.6 points and 9.8 rebounds per game in 21 post season games.
4. Elena Delle Donne
Elena Delle Donne was a highly sought after recruit of Delaware, snagging the place in Chicago Sky’s number one draft choice and the 2014 WNBA Rookie of the Year. While her looks are certainly ravishing, so is her game. She is tall, sun kissed bronze skin and lean, and with the blond hair that tugs at the hearts of her admirers. She might look like the delicate pretty girl but she is a savage on courts. She has an average of 19.8 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.8 blocks per game with the Sky. WNBA chose her as a All-Star twice, and led all the players in votes for the 2013 game as rookie. Even though she is a newbie to the league, she is already turning many heads, and all of them aren’t just because of her success as a player.
5. Sydney Carter
While Sydney Carter is not known for her dexterity for basketball but she certainly has the looks to keep her afloat at a point where her career is sinking. Last year she managed to fit in the pro basketball by playing for the different teams in three consecutive years. Last season she added her glamour shine looks to Indiana Fever where she averaged 3.2 points and 1.3 assists per game in 23 games played. She was then taken by Atlanta Dream where she spending more time on the bench than being the one in action but in order for her professional basketball career to go anywhere, she has to shoot better than 30% from the field. When she is off the court, she can put her hair down, put a little make up and wear a cute outfit which will ensure that her confidence comes back to life as she is counting amongst Atlanta’s more desirable.
6. Tayler Hill
Tayler Hill turned heads at the 2013 WNBA Draft not just because of her beauty but because of her athletic prowess too. She managed to impress the judges so she was picked 4th in the draft but she has been struggling to keep up with the promises moves she showed during selection time on the court. Despite that, her average has been 6.1 points per game and she only make seven WNBA starts. It is reassuring to know that she has more time to steady her pace with the Washington Mystics, but unless she speeds her performance back, it is safe to say she will spend more time off the court than on it. Her fans of course, are enamoured by her looks so fingers crossed that she will make a dazzling come back.
7. Jennifer Lacy
While basketball may not be her calling after all, after she went undrafted in 2006 and despite predominantly being a bench player thought out her career, she is already completing a decade with the WNBA. Her average is 5.0 and 2.3 rebounds per game which is not considered star material but we think she would have a better shot at being a super model? With her pout, the bronze complexion and height, she is already in the minds of people searching for pictures of beautiful athletes on the internet. She has scored 1,373 points in her WNBA career and uncountable points on her not so conservative pictures that are viral on the internet. Both genders find her equally attractive and sexy, but she prefers the softer genders and doesn’t seem to show much interest in her male pursuits.
8. Candice Wiggins
As the third overall pick of Minnesota Lynx, Candice started her career with a storm. In her rookie season she manage to average marvelous score of 15.7 points per game while she was decorated in honors for being the Sixth Woman of the Year. The four time All- American who comes from Stanford was praised for her success in her younger years but now she plays in the WNBA for the New York Liberty. She is intelligent, graduated from Stanford and has three gold medals to her name from Team USA.
9. Lauren Jackson
The Australian women have been known to some of the most gorgeous women on this planet and despite her height being well over six feet, Lauren couldn’t be more girlish gorgeous looks. Jackson was the first overall pick in the 2001 WNBA Draft and it was not just her looks that made her the first choice, but she has been a seven time WNBA All-Star as well as a three time WNBA MVP. Her game point average was over 20 points per game in a season in five different campaigns and an amazing history of over 9 rebounds per game in three different years.
This Australian beauty has been the shinning star in the league for the 12 season and her style and dominance in court cannot be taken for granted. Jackson is not only recognized shooting hoops but has also modeled Sports Illustrated, looking stunningly sexy in a swim suit shoots.
10. Kayla McBride
Just look at that cute smile! One that a high school cheerleader has, a wide smile with the warmth of her face. Kayla is not just an amazing player, but she is also one of the sweetest players on the roster. With her built perfect for a guard, she is defy and can run like a cheetah with the ball on the playing field. She was the third overall pick of the 2014 WNBA draft season. Like her her smile, her score chart is quite high, when she averaged 13.0 points in just her first game season in 2014, while getting the ball through the hoop 40 percent of the times she tried to throw a three pointer. She surely does put all the cute clumsy girls to shame!
In 2015, she improved her game strategy even more and her average rose one point, putting her at 14.0 and 3.6 rebounds per game. She is still the new face and certainly known for her cute smile, as much as her speed!
11. Cayla Francis
This Australian beauty has been playing professional basketball since 2005, but this is the first year of the Australian playing in the WNBA. Like many Australian professional players, she has a beautiful sun-kissed complexion and blonde hair she knows that her looks aren’t enough to keep her in WNBA. She has managed to average 6.3 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.0 blocks per game with her first year with Phoenix Mercury. She is still spending time on the bench, but with more experience we hope that she will become a better player to compliment her dazzling Australian looks.
12. Briann January
Briann January has a smile that tugs at our hearts, every time the camera zoomed in one her. To compliment that she has washboard abs that most men would kill to have and an extremely fit and athletic body. Nature was indeed generous when bestowing her with good looks and endowing her basketball skills.
She finished with a first round selection of the Indiana Fever in 2009 WNBA Draft, and is now steadily playing her seventh WNBA season and staying loyal to Indiana Fever and making the team who had dibs on her proud. In 2014, she was earned her first WNBA All-Star selection after averaging a whopping 10.3 points and 3.7 assists per game. In 2013-14 she decided to give back to the community by coaching Adelphi University and taking them to NCAA tournament and finishing as number two seed. Its not just her competence at coaching and dedication to her career, but also her never fading smile that makes her worthy of this list!
13. Swin Cash
No relation to Johnny Cash that we know of but Swin Cash has the perfect game face and the sultry looks to model. She was the second overall pick of the Detroit Shock in 2002 WNBA and currently is playing for New York Liberty. She was crowned with a WNBA All- Star four times and has been on three WNBA championship teams.
She also represented US in two gold medal winning Olympic teams, make us just as proud of her as she is of the stars and strips. She has an excellent record of averaging 11.5 points, 5.6 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game in a seasons league.
She is equally stunning on the camera as she is on the field, and with those looks, which doors won’t just fling open for her?
14. Jasmine Lister
Looking at these women we wonder if WNBA also has a minimum of good looks that are needed to be drafted. Jasmine Lister is a lovely lady new to the WNBA and now plays for the LA Sparks after she left her role at the assistant basketball coach at University of Connecticut. She played for 31 minutes in a game against her old home town team, Connecticut Sun she has already established a firm footing with the LA Sparks. Currently sitting an at average of 5.0 points and fourteen minutes of play time this season she is slowing building her repute with the LA Sparks but she is sure to be with them for a long time. With her curves set in a petite frame, she makes the cameras want to zoom in on her on and off the courts!
15. Erin Philips
Another Australian who is winning the hearts of her fans on and off the courts, Erin Phillips is best known to non sporty fans as the lingerie model for the men’s magazine, Alpha. While she did not have the honor of being the WNBA All-Star teams through her career, she did lead her team to victory on two WNBA championships. One of the eventful career moment in victory was with the Indiana Fever in 2012 and another with the Phoenix Mercury in 2014. She has made her home country proud by winning the silver medal at Beijing Olympics in 2008 and earlier she the proud recipient of a gold medal at the World Championships in 2006. So far she is shinning on the court and making her fans go crazy about her as she seductively poses in front of the camera!
